Portland WordPress User’s Group

I was just asked by Kathleen McDade to fill in for her as host of this month’s Portland WordPress User’s Group. I’ve never actually done anything like this before but am excited to give it a try. Kathleen had a speaker lined up but he had to cancel. When I heard of this, I thought that it would be a good idea to take a cue from the PDX Web and Design Group and have a series of Lightning Talks where different people speak about different topics for 5 to 10 minutes.

If you are planning on joining us this month, please consider bringing a topic to the meeting. It can be about pretty much anything you want as long as it somehow pertains to WordPress. Perhaps you found a new plugin that others might be interested in, maybe you’ve tried out one of the eCommerce solutions that Nedra Rezinas talked about last month and want to report your experience to the group. Been running the latest Beta? Share your experiences and let other users know what is coming in version 3.1.

If you know that you would like to give a talk, please email as soon as possible so I can be prepared. I’m not 100% sure if we will have a projector, but you can post slides to slideshare or have people follow along to a webpage.

Oh yeah…

The Meeting Place has Changed!!!

This month we will be meeting at NedSpace Downtown (which is not the same as NedSpace OldTown). Special thanks to Karen Groves for hooking this up :)

NedSpace Downtown is located in the old Auditorium Building on 3rd, between Salmon and Taylor, next to the Lotus bar. NedSpace has a double-door system. The exterior door will be locked at 6 pm. If you arrive early ring the doorbell on NedSpace’s door in the lobby. If you arrive after 6 please call the number on the exterior door and someone will let you in.
